Local Aging Services Providers Affiliate
Landis Communities of Lititz, Pa., and Welsh Mountain Home, New Holland, Pa., recently took action creating a strong relationship between the two organizations.
Under terms of the arrangement, Welsh Mountain Home will become affiliated with Landis Communities. This will not only keep the existing organizations strong, it will allow for the planning of additional affordable housing options in the local area. This affiliation also makes available resources in the areas of employee benefits, Financial Services, Human Resource, Information Technology and other functions from Landis Communities to Welsh Mountain Home.
Landis Communities President/CEO Larry Zook commented, “Landis Communities believes Welsh Mountain Home has a remarkable mission providing affordable personal care in a compassionate community. As Landis Communities explores new ventures in tax-credit affordable housing and in other areas of mutual collaboration with Welsh Mountain, we believe there is significant overlap in our missions and motivation to serve those who will benefit now and in the future through our collaborative efforts.”
Andrew Maines, Executive Director of Welsh Mountain Home made clear he feels good about this process saying, “Affiliation with Landis Communities will strengthen the care and overall operations of Welsh Mountain Home. Both organizations are deeply committed to extending God's grace through providing affordable housing with a Christian emphasis.” He went on to say, “This affiliation keeps the Welsh Mountain Home name strong as well as the connection to the local congregations who are so supportive of our mission.”
Dwight Groff, Board Chair of Welsh Mountain Home shared, “In the last 100 years, the mission and vision of Welsh Mountain Home has been to do God’s work. The Welsh Mountain Home transitioned from an industrial mission to a place of affordable housing without changing our strong spiritual values. This affiliation continues to guide Welsh Mountain Home in following God’s plan and will help continue the story of Welsh Mountain into the next 100 years.”
John Eby, Board Chair of Landis Communities commented, “We have shared roots in Lancaster Mennonite Conference. This collaboration will preserve our shared vision and values and allow for the growth of affordable personal care done with the quality of service people have come to expect from the two organizations.”
