Elizabeth Soto, of Lancaster, has joined the board of Landis Quality Living (LQL). This part of Landis Communities formed to lead the expansion of affordable and middle-market housing. Currently it operates Landis Place on King and Steeple View Lofts in downtown Lancaster and Welsh Mountain Home in New Holland.

Elizabeth has extensive board experience both in community and church settings including on the board of the Spanish-American Civic Association (SACA) of Lancaster and serving as the Moderator of Mennonite Church USA.

Community involvement includes founding of the Women’s Global Village, designed to help newly arrived immigrant women in the area and serving on the Finanta (formerly Community First Fund) board.

All these experiences have given her a passion for working to provide housing for persons that is attainable.  She comments, “LQL and Landis Communities have new horizons to move toward and I want to assist in that process. In the next 20 years, many “Baby Boomers” will want to be part of Landis Communities. We need to be ready for them within a spirit of justice and inclusion.”

Landis Communities Vice President of Operations/COO Evon Bergey is thrilled Elizabeth is joining the board. “She is no stranger to us, nor to the community at large. Most recently, Elizabeth served as our Diversity Consultant for Landis Place on King. In this role, Elizabeth challenged us to rethink the way we approach processes and practices and taught us along the way what true belonging looks like. I am grateful for her work then and look forward to the impact she will have on the LQL Board.”
