Zook Honored with Regional Business Leadership Award

The Central Penn Business Journal (CPBJ) 300 is an annual recognition program celebrating the most accomplished and influential business leaders throughout Central Pennsylvania, ones who have demonstrated sustained success, adaptability in the face of economic change, and a deep commitment to their industries and communities. Landis Communities is pleased to share that Larry Zook, President/CEO, has been honored by the publication in the Senior Care category.

“The leaders in this division celebrate a shared commitment to ensuring that growing older in Central Pennsylvania means living with dignity, comfort, and the highest quality of care available,” stated the publication in their July 31 announcement.

Zook has served Landis Homes and Landis Communities for 32 years, including nearly 20 years as President/CEO. Under his leadership, Landis Communities has expanded to include a family of organizations serving thousands of older adults across residential living options, home and community-based services, and affordable housing units. Landis Homes has been named a U.S. News & World Report “Best Nursing Home” (short-term rehab and long-term care) in multiple years, and a Newsweek/Statista Top 10 Best Continuing Care Retirement Communities in America.

“This work reflects the collective commitment of our boards of directors and team members to high‑quality care, spiritual well‑being, and long‑term organizational sustainability, grounded in listening well to those we serve and to the team that serves them,” Zook said. “While I’m honored to be named amongst colleagues for whom I have great respect, it’s truly a team recognition.”

Zook earned his BS in Business Administration from Millersville University, and an MBA from Eastern University. He and his wife Dawn reside in Manheim, PA.
