Bob Redcay, a Lancaster County native, is exhibiting his artwork in Crossings Gallery at Landis Homes. The current show has something for everyone to enjoy as it features an eclectic assortment of watercolors, acrylics, oils, charcoals and more on a variety of surfaces including: traditional canvases, dried leaves and rocks.

“Being creative enables me to experience a positive “escape” from other demands on my time and talents and to get in touch with the image of God our Creator,” says Bob.

He was inspired by his creative mother, Darlene Redcay, a former Landis Homes resident, to further explore his artistic ability in the late 1990’s in a local watercolor class. During the ensuing years he studied under artists Susan Darling of Marietta and Pete Foley, formerly of Mount Joy.

His work has been shown at the PA Farm Show, local fairs and at the Heart of Friendship Gallery, operated in Lancaster city, by Friendship Community.

Bob holds a Master of Social Work degree and has been employed at Friendship Community as Director of Human Resources since 2000.  He lives in Mount Joy with his wife, Cindy (Sell) where they attend Cross Roads Brethren in Christ Church. They have two adult children.  His in-laws, Glen and Ethel Sell, currently reside in a cottage at Landis Homes. Bob’s sister-in-law, Cheryl Hollinger, is employed by Landis at Home, a home services provider.

“Creating art allows me to problem-solve, to take risks and to accept failure, learn from it and to compose a better outcome.  God has utilized all of these experiences to help me to become a better leader during my social service career.”

Crossings Gallery is located in the Calvin G. & Janet C. High Learning & Wellness Center at Landis Homes, 1001 East Oregon Road, Lititz. The exhibit will continue to be on display through December 2021, from 8 AM to 7 PM, Monday-Sunday. Visitors to the exhibit must be screened and masked to attend.
